Dance

Dance sessions introduce students to various classical forms such as Bharatanatyam and Mohiniyattam, as well as folk dances, celebrating India’s rich heritage. Through training in rhythm, expression, and movement, students gain poise, confidence, and a deep connection to cultural traditions. Dance classes also incorporate lessons on the historical and cultural significance of each form, helping students appreciate the deeper meaning behind each performance.

Drawing

In drawing classes, students explore a range of visual arts techniques including sketching, shading, and painting. These sessions focus on enhancing creativity, hand-eye coordination, and observational skills. Students work on projects that encourage self-expression and artistic exploration, using various mediums to bring their imaginations to life on paper. They also learn about different artistic styles and techniques, enriching their understanding of art and design.

Keyboard

The keyboard program introduces students to Western and Indian music, building foundational knowledge of scales, chords, and music theory. Classes emphasize technical skills such as finger placement, rhythm, and melody, while also encouraging students to perform solo and in groups. Learning keyboard promotes cognitive skills, pattern recognition, and musical sensitivity, providing students with a versatile instrument that complements their musical journey.

Violin

Violin training in Kalakshetra covers both Carnatic and Western styles. Students learn about bowing techniques, fingering, and ear training, which are essential to mastering this string instrument. The program is designed to improve hand coordination, auditory skills, and musical precision. Students are encouraged to perform individually and as part of ensembles, allowing them to experience the violin’s role in various musical settings.

Flute

Flute classes introduce students to the basics of flute playing, including breath control, finger placement, and tone production. These sessions emphasize the connection between breath and music, allowing students to develop patience and concentration. Students learn to produce a range of notes and scales, giving them the ability to perform melodies that echo traditional and contemporary tunes.

Chenda

Chenda training connects students to Kerala’s vibrant percussion tradition. Students learn to play traditional rhythmic patterns unique to this drum, which is integral to temple festivals and cultural events in Kerala. The chenda requires physical strength, precision, and rhythm, making it an excellent way for students to develop their timing and coordination. This percussion instrument plays a significant role in fostering teamwork and musical collaboration.

Vocal ( Carnatic singing)

Carnatic music focus on vocal singing, where students harmonize and learn to sing in sync with each other. These classes develop vocal strength, pitch accuracy, and a sense of rhythm while fostering a spirit of unity and teamwork. It is the music associated with South India which include three subset of Sruti, Svara ,Raga.
